On 30 June 2011, the 50 paise coin became the lowest-value coin used in Indian coinage after all types of paisa coins were discontinued.
Made of copper and nickel, this old coin 50 paise coin has a round shape with a weight of 5.1 grams, a diameter of 24 mm and thickness 1.5 mm. On one side of these coins, the Ashoka Pillar with some beautiful design is printed and on the other side, 50 paise is written in Hindi and English.
